What should an aspiring videographer know about business videography?

Polished and professional videos are not a plus for a brand; it is the minimum requirement they have from their videographer. All the aspiring videographers need to know the usual tips and tricks in videography. Now, if you are an aspiring videographer, who wants to have a big clientele under their belt at some point in time, here are a few tips on how you can achieve that.

There is no achieving if you haven’t set the goal

The first step to achieving a goal is setting it. My recommendation: Create a list of brands that you would like to work with and aim high on this list – can be your long term goal.

Keeping it real, as a beginner, you will have to do odd jobs where the pricing isn’t right, and you will have to put in the hustle for low payments, but in the long run, they are worth it. If you are of the lucky few, who get the goods the first time around, then congratulations, you are ahead in the game.

Portfolios matter!

In this line of work, when businesses are hiring videographers, they do not opt for the ones who are pushing a narrative without the proof. So, create a portfolio, and put a great deal of thought into it because that can be the difference between a Yes and a NO when you get a call for the position of the business videographer.

Depending on the brand you are convincing, you might have to change your portfolio a bit to show that you are good for the job.

Business and Marketing Video Making

Know the brands

The plus when it comes to applying for working with a brand is that you know the brand well. So, before you go in to pitch your business videographer skills, know more about the brand. The history of the business and what do they like to associate with, and their brand personality.

There is crucial information about each brand available online.  Use it to your advantage and make a good impression.

Pitch yourself for the job

It would be nice if all the opportunities came knocking at our door, but that is scarcely the case. So, write those emails, and set those meetings to get in and then get the job you want. Pitching can be scary, but there are templates available online and a good portfolio.

Look at it this way; you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
